Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, is a singer-songwriter and Canadian American. She has released more than 20 albums. The music of DiFranco has been described as folk rock and alternative rock although it includes influences from punk funk hip music and jazz. Ani Difranco has been widely recognized as an icon of feminist music. In the year 1990, she was among the first to establish her own independent record label. DiFranco's parents, Elizabeth (Ross), a ex-student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each one another while each attending.
