Ariel Winter, born Ariel Winter Workman (Janurary 28, 1998) in Los Angeles California is an American performer, singer and voice-actor. Ariel started her acting career at a young age, starring in the Cool Whip commercial at age six. In an episode of CBS's Listen Up!, the actress got her first TV role in the age of seven years old. After these roles her next role was to be a part of Monk Bones and ER. Gretchen played in the Disney Original Channel animated show Phineas and Ferb in 2007. The following year, she got her first live-action performance in the role of Alex Dunphy on the hit TV show Modern Family. With her Modern Family co-stars, she has won four Screen Actors' Guild Awards for her outstanding performance as the ensemble of a comedy series. Ariel has continued to voice over work for movies like ParaNorman Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright. Ariel has achieved a Purple Belt in Taekwondo. She's the younger sister to actors Shanelle Workman and Jimmy Workman. She loves to sing and is part of the group WickedSweet. She also works in environmental organizations to promote greener living.
